Hello, and welcome to the Becker's Healthcare podcast. My name is Chanel Bhanger. Today, I'm excited to speak with doctor Anu Navani, chief medical officer at Boomerang Healthcare and the founder and medical director at Lo Rev, who joins us today to share insights in her background, turns she's watching in healthcare and a lot more. Doctor Navani, thank you so much for joining me. Could you please start us out by introducing yourself and sharing a little bit about your organizations? Absolutely. Thank you for having me, Chanel. I'm the chief medical officer at Boomerang Healthcare. We are a multidisciplinary specialty group offering interventional surgical and rehabilitative care through our 25 clinics in California. I'm also the founder and medical director of LaRav that focuses on emerging technology and regenerative solutions with a focus on longevity in form of what I describe as, the Rev three sixty, which focuses on both internal and external antiaging solutions, to optimize vitality and maximize quality of life. I also share a deep passion for advancing patient care, medical education, and health care access. I'm currently the vice president slated to take office as a president of ACIP, which is the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, in 2026. And this organization has been longstanding promoting education, research, mentorship and advocacy for interventional pain physicians. You know, as an educator and innovator, I want to transform health care through awareness and advocacy with use of emerging technology, because I truly believe the future of medicine isn't just about treatment. It's about transformation. So that's a little bit about me, and I'm really excited to talk more, Chanel, as we advance our conversation about health care and what that looks like in The United States. Yeah. Absolutely. Now moving forward, can you tell us about what trends you're currently watching in your role today? Yeah. Absolutely. You know, as the chief medical officer and the founder of La Rev, you know, trends that are really important to me are the ones that are important to any medical business this day and age. These are like unlocking efficiency, enhancing clinical outcomes, and reducing costs. As you know, these are keys to success in any business, especially ours. I also invest in advice on emerging technology, and I hold a special interest in that as well as Regentive Medicine Solutions for spine, orthopedic, and musculoskeletal conditions. I've had about fifteen plus years of experience utilizing platelet rich plasma and bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells for joint, spine, and musculoskeletal conditions and promoted safe and effective clinical practices using that. We get several clinical studies, national guidelines, and books. If you would want to talk about my specific interest, I really feel going forward, I'm focusing on emerging technology like AI, you know, gene editing, nanotechnology, bioprinting. That whole a lot of promise for longevity and personalized medicine and regenerative health solutions that I take a lot of interest in. My focus is to integrate these innovations irresponsibly in clinical practice, bring it to the point of care where patients can really make use of it in an efficacious and safe fashion. And in that effort, I have started a consumer based a patient based educational videocast called Health Hack that is now on and about. And, you know, I'm continuing to make episodes that educate people about emerging technologies and how they can use that to their advantage and be their best healthcare advocates. I'm also writing a book on that that should be coming out this year, so stay tuned on that. Exciting stuff. Now, you've already kind of talked about what you're looking forward to this year, but moving forward in 2025, what would you say you're most focused on and excited about? Yeah. Absolutely. You know, a couple of things that we've been working on, for last year or so, have been some turnkey solutions. I would say innovative products that we have brought up that would drive improvements in efficiency, clinical outcomes, and cost savings. I truly believe digital health engagement, when applied at the level of patients and stakeholders, can really help drive success by addressing each of these three elements that are key to any business, especially medical business. There's a platform we have developed called Workflow that engages stakeholders such as insurance companies, employers, case managers, third party administrators, and even attorneys in medical legal cases with healthcare providers. This platform actually allows for data share and instant communication between these stakeholders and healthcare providers as well as patients and helps us expedite patient care, reduce administrative burden and costs, and through its AI feature, allows for predictive risk modeling and revenue forecasting. So we see that as a win win all around, because not only are we expediting patient care and patient journey through our clinics, but also, you know, bringing the health care to a whole new platform and a whole new double. We also have started another platform, which has also got to do with the digital health engagement, but this is applicable to consumer patients. And this is something we refer to as the RAFT three sixty platform, where, you know, the patients are able to track and correct their clinical health indicators, especially physical, behavioral, and nutritional scores, where we are AI induced prompts. So they actually measure it at baseline and then they measure it at a frequent interval. And based on the deviations of the scores from the baseline and based on their behaviors, AI actually induces prompts and allows them to get back to baseline, as well as they're able to share real time health data with their medical teams for proactive intervention and personalized care. And all in all, we feel it's a really great product that, you know, that's out there now that leads to healthier patients with reduced hospital and readmission costs and enhances patient engagement and satisfaction, attracting new business. So it's a win win for everybody. And we are now looking at enhancements in this platform with the biosensors, AR, VR, and generative AI. So that's kept us pretty excited. Besides that, I actually also, advise and invest on emerging technologies, like I said earlier, And one that I'm speak taking a special interest in is something that combines, AI, VR, and robotics, to help with neuroplasticity in patients with traumatic brain injury, chronic pain, and autism. So really interesting and very useful products, in the pipeline here and some already launched and some coming along the way. So it keeps lives interesting and allows us to do the best we can in our field. Exciting stuff. Now that we've looked into the future a bit, looking back at 2024, what initiative or project would you say you're most proud of that you've done at either organization? You know, just kind of making sure that we are able to deliver quality care in a cost effective fashion to our patients, from operational standpoint, bringing quality and safety from clinical standpoint to our patients when we administer care about, whether it is, you know, interventional pain, musculoskeletal, orthopedic, or spine care, or even longevity, and, you know, health and wellness. So we have actually addressed all of these areas. And then, you know, launching these launching these digital health engagement platforms that actually help keep the patients connected to the healthcare providers driving not only engagement, but also better healthcare outcomes. I think those are the ones that we have kind of worked on really hard and now launched and are specifically proud of. Got it. Got it. And now with your decades long experience and and heading up all these different organizations, I think you're the perfect person to ask this question. With that, what advice would you share to evolving leaders maybe looking to have the same impact or success in their careers as you? Yeah. Absolutely, Chanel. You know, I often tell people I mentor that leadership is not about keeping up. It's about staying ahead. And with tech growing as fast as it is, we are at the intersection of innovation and responsibility. So my advice to young leaders would be push boundaries, but with wisdom. Always question status quo and remember, your competition is not with others. It is with the best version of yourself. Excellent advice. Well, doctor Navani, I wanna thank you for your time today. But before I let you go, is there anything else that listeners should know? No. I'm you know, I have really enjoyed, talking to you, Chanel. I would say stay tuned for HealthHACK, which is to give you bite sized, health and wellness information to create healthier communities and keep our patients educated about emerging technologies and how they can use it to their best advantage. And keep an eye out for the book that's coming out on emerging technology and how we can best utilize it in health care. Got it. Well, that's a perfect place to end. Doctor. Navani, I wanna thank you once again for your time today and for sharing your insights on the Becker's Health Care podcast. Thank you. Thank you, Chanel.
